We welcomed 5 teams for the last 1st division Rapidplay competition. Teams were from Newport A, Shrewsbury A, Maddocks A, Telepost B and Telford A.
The Telepost A team have won this 1st division Rapidplay tournament and many congratulations to them (1st photograph)
We also welcomed Church Stretton A for their 3rd division match against our D team. With a win by Charlie Bethune and a maiden win for our new member Mike Etchells with a well deserved draw from captain John Casewell the D team won 2.5 to 1.5 against very strong opposition. Our other new member William Millward was narrowly defeated with a well played game by his opponent. “
With many members playing social chess we totalled 42 people for the night.
